Product Overview

WORKSHOP NOTICEECU Calibration / IMA Coding Required

This injector requires 6-8 digit calibration code programming (IMA / QR code) into the vehicle ECU (using Bosch KTS, Lexia/Diagbox or equivalent diagnostic equipment) following replacement to balance cylinder fuel delivery and prevent DTC P0300 misfire codes.

The Bosch 0261520134 (Ford OE EJ7Z-9350-A / EJ7E-9D376-AA) is the genuine original equipment high-pressure fuel pump for Ford 2.0L and 2.3L EcoBoost turbocharged engines. Driven by a dedicated camshaft lobe via a roller follower, this Bosch HDP-5 compact single-piston pump generates up to 200 bar (2900 psi) rail pressure. Commonly installed on the Ford Mustang 2.3L EcoBoost, Focus RS, and Explorer, it features an integrated electronic spill control valve. Typical failure signs include extended cold start crank times, hesitation above 4500 RPM, and DTC P0087.

Before You Order

HIGH-RPM FUEL CUT & ROLLER TAPPET INSPECTION: On tuned or high-boost Ford 2.3L EcoBoost engines (Mustang and Focus RS), high-pressure rail pressure collapse under full load drops fuel delivery below 50 bar, triggering sudden boost cut, misfire DTC P0300, and lean condition P0171. Inspect the camshaft roller tappet (Ford OE AG9Z-6C535-A) for scoring; never install a new pump without lubricating the plunger shaft and verifying roller rotation.

Matched High-Pressure Fuel Pump (Fuel Circuit Assembly)

Operates on the same high-pressure rail circuit. When troubleshooting low rail pressure (DTC P0087), verify pump volumetric delivery before replacing injectors.

Installation Tips

Tools needed: Line flare wrench for high-pressure fuel rail pipe nut, 8mm and 10mm sockets with ratchet and extension, Torque wrench calibrated for 10-35 N·m, Clean engine oil or assembly lubricant for roller follower and seal, Eye protection and absorbent rags for high-pressure fuel relief

  1. Disconnect battery negative terminal; remove fuel pump fuse and crank engine to bleed static fuel pressure.
  2. Wrap clean cloth around high-pressure fuel line fitting; loosen flare nut gradually to relieve remaining pressure.
  3. Disconnect electrical connector from HPFP volume control solenoid.
  4. Disconnect low-pressure fuel supply line quick-connect coupler.
  5. Loosen the two pump mounting bolts evenly half-turn by half-turn to relieve cam spring load smoothly.
  6. Remove pump assembly; extract roller follower AG9Z-6C535-A and inspect for flat spots or needle bearing play.
  7. Clean cylinder head mating surface; lubricate new pump Viton O-ring with fresh engine oil.
  8. Rotate engine until camshaft driving lobe is on base circle (lowest lift point).
  9. Install lubricated roller follower into bore; seat pump body square against cylinder head.
  10. Torque mounting bolts alternately in progressive steps to 13 N·m.
  11. Thread high-pressure steel line flare nut hand-tight; torque to 32 N·m.
  12. Reconnect low-pressure fuel hose and electrical plug; cycle ignition 3 times and check for leaks.
Tips & Warnings:
  • Counter-Holding Pipe Nut: Always counter-hold the pump body outlet fitting when tightening the high-pressure steel line flare nut to prevent fitting damage.
  • Base Circle Positioning: Rotate engine to lowest camshaft lobe position before installing pump to avoid stripping aluminum head threads.
  • Roller Follower Renewal: Replace the roller follower during every pump renewal to ensure smooth operation and prevent warranty voiding.

Diagnostic Trouble Codes & Fault Protocols

Common diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) triggered when this common rail injector experiences wear, circuit faults, or calibration drift:

P0087Critical

Fuel Rail / System Pressure Too Low

Excessive internal backleak from worn control valve seats drops common rail pressure below target under engine load.

P0201 - P0208High

Injector Circuit Malfunction / Open Circuit

Solenoid coil resistance drift (0.2-0.5 Ω) or piezo stack degradation triggers driver stage shutdown on affected cylinders.

P0300 / P0301+High

Cylinder Misfire & Balancing Deviation

Carbon-clogged nozzle spray holes or missing IMA calibration causes uneven cylinder contribution. Recode ECM and verify washer seating.

P0088High

Fuel Rail / System Pressure Too High

Spill line backpressure or stuck metering valve prevents rail depressurization, creating overpressure risks under load.
