Matched High-Pressure Fuel Pump (Fuel Circuit Assembly)

Operates on the same high-pressure rail circuit. When troubleshooting low rail pressure (DTC P0087), verify pump volumetric delivery before replacing injectors.

Installation Tips

Tips & Warnings:
  • Always install a fresh roller tappet: A worn or seized roller tappet will gouge the intake camshaft drive lobe, necessitating expensive cylinder head and camshaft replacement.
  • Verify engine oil for gasoline contamination: A failed internal shaft seal allows 200 bar fuel to spray directly into the cylinder head, diluting oil and risking rod bearing seizure.
  • Tighten mounting bolts evenly in stages: Drawing down one bolt first cocks the internal plunger against the bore, fracturing the mounting ears or binding the piston.
  • Cycle ignition to prime prior to start: Cycle key ON 3 times without cranking to pressurize the low-pressure feed circuit and bleed air from the pump chamber.

Diagnostic Trouble Codes & Fault Protocols

Common diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) triggered when this common rail injector experiences wear, circuit faults, or calibration drift:

P0087Critical

Fuel Rail / System Pressure Too Low

Excessive internal backleak from worn control valve seats drops common rail pressure below target under engine load.

P0201 - P0208High

Injector Circuit Malfunction / Open Circuit

Solenoid coil resistance drift (0.2-0.5 Ω) or piezo stack degradation triggers driver stage shutdown on affected cylinders.

P0300 / P0301+High

Cylinder Misfire & Balancing Deviation

Carbon-clogged nozzle spray holes or missing IMA calibration causes uneven cylinder contribution. Recode ECM and verify washer seating.

P0088High

Fuel Rail / System Pressure Too High

Spill line backpressure or stuck metering valve prevents rail depressurization, creating overpressure risks under load.
